I understand the RC comments.

I'm uncertain of the Patch Manager piece and hope you can reply in that thread.  I am wondering if you are using Landesk Agents to push Mac OSX updates with Patch Manager.  I'm not concerned about the Windows side because that seems to work ~okay for me.

As for your organization's plans to move ahead, I recommend reading up on some of the pitfalls with 9.5 and especially SP1 before moving.

I was hoping to get to 9.5SP1 last month but the service pack wasn't available.  I did the 9.0 SP3 to 9.5 update; I believe that is 9.0.3 but I'm not sure.  Some things broke along the way and it took some time getting everything to work.  I've noticed some chatter on the SP1 update which leaves me without that warm and fuzzy feeling.  I would like to resolve some of my current problems with 9.5 via this service pack but I'm unwilling to break and of my production tools in trade.  I'll likely try the SP1 in late September.

Depending on your resources, you might be able to stand up an entirely new Landesk Core with 9.5SP1 and move your data over to it without messing with what you currently have.  If a little testing of the new system shows promise you can power down your old core and start using the new one.  This gives you some security in that you can bring your old core up and keep running should the new one fail to meet expectations.  I'm about ready to sign off on recycling our old core now.

Good luck with all of that.

And lets hope Landesk sorts out these Mac issues soon!
