Actually you can disable the start at logon, in settings you have a checkbox : "Start LANDesk Antivirus at Windows startup", just untick it, and that's it.

That's weird, because when you click update in your desktop manager, it also calls the policy.sync.exe without parameters... Did you try to run it with administrative credentials? Frank
